Christopher J. Jackson will make you think, make you laugh, and maybe even make you cry when there is good news. He may even cry with you. Aristotle via Elle Woods said, “The law is reason free from passion.” Chris Jackson believes that is imprecise and not entirely accurate. Passion for their craft makes an attorney accessible to their clients and others. Passion for their craft emboldens an attorney to pursue true justice for their clients and others. Passion for their craft brings a high level of commitment to their clients and to the profession. Thus, the law is anything but free from passion.
Pretty cool, devoted, and nerdy husband first. Pretty awesome and not-too-serious dad second. Pretty reasonable and compassionate attorney third. Christopher brings balance to life outside-of-law and life inside-of-law. He wants people – whether they retain him or not – to feel comfortable and leave feeling better about themselves and their legal challenges. That said, he prides himself on transparency while maintaining the delicate balance of reading the room. You will likely find a consultation with Chris Jackson refreshing and invigorating!
Prior to starting his firm, Chris spent about 2.5 years collaborating with insurance carriers by defending the interests and rights of truckers, trucking companies, and auto drivers. He learned the delicacies, trade customs, and procedures of insurance companies in personal injury claims and lawsuits. He engaged in the confidence of insurance adjusters, forged strong relationships with opposing counsel, and secured favorable results for many of his clients, those people and companies insured by the insurance companies. Through these experiences, Chris left with a greater understanding of the insurance game and how to achieve optimal results regardless of the odds. He brings that experience and knowledge to you.
Before making the move to insurance defense, Chris transferred his former prosecutorial experience to a firm where he defended those accused of juvenile crimes, misdemeanors, and felonies. He took pride in securing highly favorable outcomes for his diverse cliente. Said results ranged from lesser included charges to far-lower-than-anticipated jail and prison sentences to outright dismissals. At that same firm, he engaged in the fundamentals of civil rights law and learned the fascinating intricacies of the intersection between civil rights and criminal defense.
Going down the timeline, he spent more than a full calendar year building strong foundations in the State and Federal world of civil litigation at a large local personal injury law firm. There he absorbed the fundamentals of Plaintiffs’ work including intake, claim analysis, claim building, client management, motion practice, bad faith, adjuster and opposing counsel negotiations, and more. At the time of his departure, he had developed into a proficient claims litigation attorney to the tune of approximately $1,000,000 in settlements. What he enjoyed most of that experience, however, was the relationship building and networking. Chris fostered business and personal relationships with some of Northeast Florida’s preeminent Chiropractors, Pain Management Doctors, Orthopedists, and Neurosurgeons – all critical Plaintiff advocates in any personal injury action.
Then back to where it all started, before his civil education, he dedicated almost 3.5 years to the People of Florida as a prosecutor at the Office of the State Attorney. There, he learned the machinations of the criminal justice system and developed a fair, firm, friendly, and professional reputation through his management of thousands of Misdemeanor, Juvenile, and Felony cases. Those machinations included deep diving into Victim Advocacy and into commonly abused and violated Constitutional Rights like the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments. Not solely limited to reading and transactional drafting outside of the Courtroom, Christopher dedicated thousands of hours inside of the Courtroom to oral advocacy including hearings, bench trials, and jury trials to verdict. He loved his time at the State and left with a greater sense of his inherent commitment to justice.
Justice matters. Representation matters. Being accessible, bold, and committed drives Chris’s passion for justice. It allows him to intertwine his unique hybrid background of the Criminal and Civil arenas with the expectations of his firm’s values.
Raised in Columbus, GA, and a Tampa transplant since 2012, Christopher is stoked to serve you, the community of Jacksonville, the State of Florida, and any other jurisdiction where he may be admitted to practice law. Besides his practice areas which you can see here, he especially looks forward to tackling novel, non-traditional legal adventures!
When he is not working, he’s dedicated to his family: superstar wife Megan, a principal of an A-level performing local charter school, and two sons Christopher Jr. and Carter B. If you know where, you’ll find him in the pool, working out, chilling on the beach, traveling (especially with a passport), and hacking away on the golf course!
